Safe and Sound Minded Space by
Naurarat Suksomstarn

Naurarat believes that contradiction exist within human life. Collective conflicts have an affect on individuals as well as contradiction in one’s own mind. She chose to represent her art works through social modernization and its conflicting relationship with nature, by analyzing the self-destructive nature of modernization through sight and sound by people whom are victims of this process (that they are not capable of choosing their own lives as well as all of us that are not capable of choosing how this society should be) It is these developments which control the limits of human interaction, human senses and true happiness, which cause mental illness to mankind. So where is exactly our safe zone? Since we human beings are born from nature, shouldn’t we belong there?

Born on January the 9th 1984 , Ubonrachatani. Received a bachelor’s degree majoring in film from one of the most well known universities located in Bangkok. Due to personal fascination in visualizing all surroundings and feelings into images, thus photography and video art are the most appropriate media to pass on all inner sentiments. She believes in art that initiates from the artists’ purest mind, sincerity beliefs and modus Vivendi, through the absence of flashy trends and social values at that moment.
Today she is a photographer in a certain magazine and a freelance music video director. Other than this, she is a bassist in a weird band “Assajan Jakgawan” which believes that we all live in a miracle universe.
